What are you talking about, a decent parent understands they can't be a controlling overlord and that external influences will always play a part.
I intend to give me kids a good life which consequently means they'll be more privileged than others and no matter how much you grind into them how to be humble, differences in statuses means its very likely they'll develop an ego behind your back. To which I personally don't want to deal with my children thinking they're better than everyone else and thus want females who are LESS likely to develop such traits though it is entirely possible.
I would want to show my kid the freedom of choice. I want them to develop their own sense of right/wrong, their own morals. I would just be their guide and show them what does it take to walk whatever path they chose.
