I saw a Jenkins video like few years ago and I just followed that logic.
In 100 games(just a ballpark),
40 games will be free wins - you will win regardless of how bad you play
40 games will be free losses - you will lose regardless of how good you play
20 games - where your impact will decide the end result.
Play every game like it's one of those 20 games. Don't get cocky over the 40 free wins, don't tilt yourself and make those 40 free losses into 60 losses.
If you are playing support, instead of win/loss, just think about what you can do to make your team's game easier. Winning the game is not your job, your job is to make sure your team has the most comfortable game of their lives, regardless of how good/trash they are.

and consider Vengeful, is it not good to rush aghs? based on what u said, supp must make games easier for team so you'd choose solar crest/Drums/Spirit vessel over aghs for her?
I climbed from Ancient 3 to Immortal in like 3 weeks only palying support and over 60% winrate, its easier than mid or carry since you can influence what happens in the game way more.
^If you are good at any role and spend enough time you can climb the mmr ladder. It's just funny to see ppl crying about forced losses, roles and other BS reasons to justify their rank.
Now the forums have gone cold, but few years ago, it was full of cry babies that made multiple threads about how it's impossible to climb mmr as support. I just took that as a fun challenge.

I don't have any solid build on heroes, it's mostly just dependent on the lineup. (for ex. rushing euls against a magnus, atos against qop/ember, sometimes a casual meka and so on)
But, if in doubt, just make glimmer, force and stay behind your cores. The more you play and analyze your games, you can start to get a feel on itemization.
Always keep your mind open and keep thinking during the game.
I never played venge, so I have 0 idea how that hero works.
The best thing about playing as Mirana and AA is that both those heroes on support role don't need farm to have impact. All of the spells on both those heroes are purely fight enhancers.
That means, you can't win games by yourself. So you just have to accept that, in some games you can do everything right and still lose and not let it tilt you into playing pos 4/5 as a semi-core.
But, this also means, you don't have to burden yourself with winning the game. Just play the game freely, use every piece of information available on the map and your screen to give your team the best advantage.
You can affect the game in any role and all roles are important. You can climb in any role. In any role you will get your games where you get carried and some games where you do the carrying and some games where it seems like the people you are playing with don't know what a mouse is. It just is what it is. If you do your job well at least you are doing your part. It may feel disheartening on that 10 game losing streak, but that is Dota in a nutshell. Sometimes you get that team where you just run all over the enemy team and sometimes you get rolled hard.
Climbing with support is possible until Valve starts giving you special cases. I win 3 or 4 in a row. I get special people. Like a buyers with no clue, no game sense of where they are, blocking their own camp while standing in lane. I mean. Dude, come on, Valve, you can do better. People with 25k games just acting weird.
@MD, You will lose a lot of games while climbing. The trick is to not let the tilt spill over.
My rule of thumb is simple. If I queue into a game where I get queued with griefers. I just stop queuing after that for ranked. I just assume the pool is full of dogshit right now and fuck around in unranked or other games.
