I assume you don't know the "Ctrl+shift+Item" queue list? You can queue items so you dont have to look for them.
then once you enter shop you either click on it or use a key assigned to it (clicking is easier cuz key starts from left to right of the queue and sometimes I need other items of queue first). Pro players mostly do the same.
i am using quickbuy along with the ctrlshift but sometimes i need to buy like salve in fountain to regen faster or some other quick purchase that you don't usually put in the list
Que all my core item in quick buy before the game even started . When searching for item in shop left click the smaller component of the item
pretty sure there are console commands for purchasing a certain item and u can bind it to a key
I tried to use the keyboard shortcuts but couldn't figure out what buttons to press to buy wards so gave up and stuck with quickbuy.
I've seen players almost instantly ship out salves/clarities without appearing to open the shop. have they got console commands or just F5+key for buying salve/clarity?
ok u used to be able to buy items in 1 click but valve forbid binding multiple commands to one key and they also broke shop command ever since reborn i guess
the only thing i could do is this
(autoexec.cfg)
bind "KP_8" dota_shop_force_hotkeys 1
bind "KP_9" dota_shop_force_hotkeys 0
which causes shop to start/stop using special hotkeys when i press num8/9
these hotkeys apparently cannot be edited but u can see them(except they dont correspond to the items theyre next to because valve fucked up even there and made hotkey padding too large so they dont align with respective items), Q1 is tp, Q2 is calrity, Q7/8 are tango/salve
u also cant enable/disable shop hotkeys when in shop for whatever reason, u can press num8-shop-num9 and shop will still use hotkeys until u close it, but if u reopen it it won't
which is irrelevant i guess because when u close shop the changes take effect anyway
not sure pressing at least 3 keys(shop + Q + <N>) every time u want to buy a salve and having to worry about toggling shop hotkeys is more efficient than just buying it from quick items but i guess if u practice it enough that it will become muscle memory it will save u some time
the stuff that i hate the most on dota 2 is the ping, has different sound from wc3 and there's no more "your allies are under attack" so i can't recognize minimap that much and the shop hotkeys, why cant they just put many npcs again and differentiate the shop not just 1 panel,it's better i can click the npcs and just press their hotkeys damn it
Well I know where some items are positioned, when I don't see the items, I type and get it, for the core items and most of the time queuing is the best option.

how do you buy items in shops?
do you memorize the exact positions of the items, or do you use keybinds somehow?
i realised that i'm pretty slow regarding buying items (and manipulating with them in inventory/courier/backpack), especially after half of them is moved on a different spot every other patch so i got something to work on
(not that it will make a difference in any 4k game L U L)
