SNY is considered one of the weaker item choices for Slark with the introduction of Echo Sabre.
Basher is always a viable option cause an additional stun chance is never a bad thing.
I have personally gone off Skadi as though it makes him tough, I always feel you lack damage so if I feel forced into buying it, I always buy it later in the game.

I like the SB, Echo, Orchid, Basher build if you can pull it off without massively feeding. It requires you to be very active, no afk.

Benefits are once you upgrade both your SB, and your Orchid you can dish out massive amounts of Damage in a minimal amount of time. Other stat items force you to stay in fights longer cause you're never able to just blow someone up.

i like the way you think. i used to think orchid was lame on slark. but now i think if u can avoid skadi go for the orchid instead. upgrade ur sb for the stats
