If your offlane hero cant go jungle efficiently(like timbersaw), just try your best to leech exp from the lane, and if you notice the supports rotate to other lanes, make the enemy carrys life hell
idk. walk a step back when they want to harass you to destroy their own creep equibrillium. Tide is immune to rightclicks with his E, Axe is Axe and with Batrider you can easily punish their attempt of harassing with your Napalm and amplified rightclicks but beware magic sticks/wands.
dont pick something that cant iron talon if enemies can kill u with their toes eyes closed
keeping enemy supports on lane is good pretty often
I play almost exclusively off lane just calibrated but climbed from 4.2-4.5 recently. One thing I would say is occasionally the opposing tri-lane will be extremely strong in this scenario only attempt to get cs under tower buy iron talon and farm the hard camp Near radiant ancients, if you get the timings right also stack the ancients as you do this if you have a core on your team who can farm them (or you are tide-hunter). Don't expect to have a good time in the off lane every game sometimes you have to be the sacrificial lane and will end up like level 4-5 6-7 mins into the game.
Offlane is so hard. Try dark seer if the enemy carry is melee hero. Atleast you can farm and make their carry cry. Dont forget the ward. The ward is so fcking important not to block their camp from respanwing but to save your ass from getting killed. If the lane got so hard just go spam 2nd skill and stack the nearest nc.

1k -2k : can kill suport and carry and lasthit more than both
3k : can kill support and harras little bit carry
4k :can only kill suport canot do much anything else except try to deny
Just play safe early on. Later when you have some levels grab an Iron Talon and hit the jungle to make up for all those missed creeps. It really helps if you play a hero that can stack and clear jungle camps such as Beastmaster or Batrider.
