I'd imagine you basically want crowd control items to be disruptive and annoying in fights, place down wraiths for flying vision, and you want to be a little bit greedy, I think if you can grab a midas it will help you farm (although not recommended every game) otherwise I don't think he can farm or gank easily, I think he's kinda good at zoning solo offlaners.
For items Having double force can be really useful, double pipe (don't stack them, recast once it's run out), euls, hex, lotus orb, glimmer cape, mana boots for lots of mana, double linkens can be annoying, medallion/solar crest, dagon + eblade for ultra late game burst?
