because of the skill averages in those games, i was once like 30# sk, i played 2 party games with some 2k friends(we won) and i pretty much got kicked out of top 100# for the next 10 solo games, and then i'm like 70# now. so yea, dotabuff doesn't allow you to play with friends
ur division score, which is part of your overall hero score, decreased due to you playing in low tier matches (lpq, nmm, party - idk, im not gonna check).
I was #78 Omniknight, played with 3900 friends, made a 15-0-26 score from mid. -> Lost more than 350 metascore and fell out of top #100. So yeah, that's how it works. Also, it gets harder to sustain your level since it always checks for the skill level you are mastering with the hero at given time. In order to raise metascore you gotta keep playing against better and better players (win or lose counts less than most people would think). So in theory a new account could get higher in top 100 with just dozens of games (with the same hero) than one with 7-8k mmr and 6000 games. >qSnake vs. Badman reference (where qSnake soared and achieved #8 in the top 100 with less than 60 games on Spectre on an account WITHOUT MMR - he had a subtotal of ~80 games - whereas Badman sometimes fell back to #20 due to playing sometimes 1500-2000 mmr lower than his actual skill level).

IMO, mmr is boring. I don't want to play against the same heroes of the month. Team mates are often very stress-inducing. Also, I am not flexible, I can only play a small select few heroes
They did say months ago that they were going to fix ratings so team mr didn't have as much effect on your overall rating.
Guess they focused on adding stars to high mmr players in the forums instead, heh.
I gained +9 dotabuff rating just for losing 2 matches, wtf? I have been diamond level 9 forever. Nothings really changed.
It feels like I am awarded 10 points every 50 matches.
rating is dependent on winrate/kda/skill level etc.
so if you have 75% winrate, 1 loss requires 3 wins to neutral out.
