why would you care about maelstrom hitting 4 targets? we're talking about single target dps - how often do you see your wr in games hitting 4 fucking heroes with her maelstrom? especially often, so that you can not neglect the 3 more targets that get hit by maelstrom?
^actually not, because ur magic resistance will stay the same throughout the game (lets say apart from you building hood of defiance or some shit, or your teammates using glimmer on you/building pipe for your mkb), so there will always be a 25% resistance against mkb - throughout the game people will gain armor (either by agility gain, vlads, acs etc), so physical dmg becomes less the longer the game goes.
the issue is probably that you might lose because of bkbs - but even then your mkb procs shouldnt matter that much (since you'd have a team), and if you're going solo you actually have to land a shackle to kill someone (so bkb doesnt matter)

Assuming WR has scepter and phase boots (so normal damage is about 140 without any additional items) we can count the damage from mkb vs daedalus:
mkb damage = 140 +66+0.35*160=262
daedalus damage = (81+ 140) *1.36=301
