I think its easier to win games and get 8k when theres now so many 7-6k mmr players, those around 7-8k no longer need to carry a bunch of 4-5k mmr vs a team of 5-6ks
its really just a natural progression in any value number based game really...after a while it becomes easier to achieve a previous target that may have seemed prohibitive
it usually happens when the population of the game gets really high.....people keep pushing the limits then and after a couple break thru, it becomes a little less daunting for others
MMR Inflation. The avg MMR is increasing because you have no idea what a huge amount of 1 MMR players there is. Those players just keep losing games while not losing MMR. The MMR flows from the bottom to the top.
Yeah, anyone can get LEM or higher on CSGO now, even Global, doesn't seem as hard nowadays, I quit CS awhile ago though.
As shit as you think everyone is at Dota, they are improving, so is the games popularity, and mobas in general obviously, MOBAS are the NEW FPS in terms of popularity.
Also, 4K US Dota = 8K Europe Kappa
It's because Invoker is currently so overpowered that people get mmr just by picking it.
Now seriously...more players (or accounts) in the game translates more points in the grinder. Inevitably the point distribution polarizes and the highest scores get higher and higher.
Because people have no lifes and just fucking play 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, 30 days a month and eventually get to very high MMRs.
I mean just look at those guys, they don't even have that high winrates, just a lot of games.
@yorkey
They lowered everyone 2-4 ranks somewhat recently so Global is really hard now
Actually it is an illusion. You have to played 15 solo ranked games in the same division in the last 21 days. Players are shifting in and out of this qualifying metric depending on their other schedule and priorities. There are not "suddenly" 5 players at 8k MMR in EU. Instead a few more of the 8k players happened to play some solo ranked this month.
A lot of the top players play most of their games in scrims instead of public matches anyway. You may or may not see a player on the Highscore depending on what they did the last couple weeks.
For example: Illidan did not suddenly reach 8.2k MMR. https://www.dotabuff.com/players/26316691
He did not play a single game on this account from November 3rd to January 10th. Then he started playing some public games again and wow, "suddenly" he is over 8k.... he was already there, just hidden. He has only gone up a couple hundred MMR since he started doing pubs on this account again.
I know a dozen accounts on my friends list that would be on the World Leaderboards if they just played a few more solo ranked, but are not shown because of not enough solo ranked in the last few weeks. Some are duplicates of the same people. So that adds more confusion.
ppl just spam games. also the higher everyone else gets, the less the queue times so they actually get to grind more.
