I always assume I'm the worst player in game and blame my team for not being able to carry me like they should do.

Assuming yourself to be the best player in the team is the first thing you do if you want to raise in MMR because theoretically, you should be able to raise your MMR in the long run since you are more skillful than all the other 9 players in the games.

Which is why people don't go supports, especially the ones who need high amount of team coordination. For instance, you are holding an enemy as Shadow Shaman but your carry isn't doing shit "cus they don't even know what the fuck they are doing, you might as well hold your dick" (SirActionSlacks, 2014).

However coming back to the topic, it is just as true as it would be applied to real life scenario. You die as the core hero in the game, you dieback, then the game is pretty much decided if your teammates couldn't hold the push until you respawn. Therefore the decisions you make are very important. Should you call your team to stick with you? Did they actually stick with you? What can you do if the fight is already happening without you? Should I back off when the enemy team buyback?

This also applies if you can assist the core hero in not dying, i.e. ensuring his survival. If that is the case, you shouldn't be taught to know that sticking to him is the best thing you could do, especially during late game.

I don't know how do you define "laying back and still continue do your thing", but if all 4 of them don't know a single shit about what they do, then yeah fuck them just do your thing like it is a 1v9. But you need to make sure you know what you do.

              Yeah definitely.

If you look at my ranked and unranked all of my unranked recently have been 'very high skill', while my ranked are in 'high skill' (since im 3.4k atm). Though for my past two party unranked we finally got into 'very high skill' for ranked since I was queuing with a guy who was 3.8k and my party ranked is 3555 atm) so the games average out to around 3.7~ or so now.

When I play party unranked though we get queued upagainst people who have between 4-5k solo ranked displayed on their profiles.

Eg this game here - http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1976355389

Treant and Alchemist were both 5k. The Tiny, Morph and Wyvern were all 4k+ - tiny was 4.8. Yeah I got destroyed in this one but so did the others on my team who were apparently a lot higher than me (plus I now know when I want to destroy low skill people on smurfs going mid and farming a fast dagger on Tiny and then going around killing people is the way to go).

              Or this one - http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2023260383

Centaur was 4.5k (can't remember or the others didn't display theirs).

So if I'm able to be playing against mid 4ks in my unranked games shouldn't I be playing against them in ranked? Of course I should. Yet when I pick safelane carry (my preferred role cause I just love to hit creeps all day) most of the time I get dual laned against, often by some super strong offlane, while I'll only get a weak or useless support, and our own offlane does nothing to shut down the enemy carry, and since of course our "mid" hero is only a 3ker they aren't going to win against the enemy mid, at best they will lose or draw even and never do anything to the enemy carry etc.

              That's how I get games like this - http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2018634898

              Or this - http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2018734288

              Or this - http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2037632147

So finally after that I decided, screw it. Since I'm playing against 4ks in my unranked games, and you can't outplay enemies when they are aggressively dual laning against you and all you have is some shitty ass weak laning support I figured it's time to go mid again where I can actually have a decent early game. Unfortunately I don't have a big mid hero pool since I prefer safelane carries...so when I play solo I've had to spam like the only mid hero which I was any good at (and who also happens to be a pretty good hero at 3k) - Zeus. I also take the lead on mic and buying smokes and forcing smoke ganks etc.

I have since won the last 4 out of 4 ranked games where I have gone mid as Zeus.

In summary - if you are better than your ranked team mates it should show in your unranked games with you playing against people with significantly higher displayed ranked mmrs. If you aren't playing against people in unranked with higher mmrs than you, then you are not the best person on your team when you go into ranked.

When you are snowballing it is your responsibility not to die to prevent experience and gold bost to enemies.
