Umm, I remember the arteezy ee mid 1v1 matchup video they did (basically an hour long stream) helped me quite a bit, even though theres still so much I couldn't pick up consistently from the video.

melee mids are pretty hard to play. the thing is that you gotta keep lane on your upperground, so the enemy doesnt harass you, but this requires creep pulling skills, as he will pull them too. if he comes on your upperground, just rekt him with flame guard. and dont use chains with creeps nearby.
i suck at this, but when mid is hard i just try to farm anything i can, get rune control and gang. es's flame guard makes some nice dmg, and you might get a kill or two on a pushed enemy lane.

Hello Dotabuff forums, recently, out of the TI5 hype, I've decided to once again use Ember Spirit in my pubs. He looks just so good every stage, being able to nuke at people early on with magical damage, and still prove its own right as a carry with an well-designed physical nuke. However, his laning stage sucks shit, especially at the midlane where I usually pit him against cancerous heroes like Queen of Pain, Lina, Storm Spirit etc. His armor is quite low for an Agi carry, and HP pool doesnt help much either.
But just seeing Sumail winning Ember against strong counter-matchups like Razor and Lina during TI5 leaves me completely in awe. Is it just complete talent or are their actually general guidelines that I should learn by heart?
