i think the pool is smaller than 200 people
cuz often u get 2 to 5 people of your previous game into ur next game
but if u wait for like 5 mins u will never meet same people for liek a week
mmr is predetermined games same this as pub i did not see any difference between ranked and normal and i start at 3.8 mmr and drop to 2.4 i win 2 games and then a lose 6-7 every single time i almost quit the game .....and when i say this and ask people here all the haters in the world are in dota 2 everybody blame u ! so as i have to say
valve need to re-work the pub game i am 2k acc and i mached with people under 50 games! i had someone with 48 games ....in my team what kind of a game is that that u play 2-3 years (i am not good but....) and u got matched with just fresh oness !

i just started playing on smurf i got 200 games on it at 4500-5000 range games and i meet tons of people who has 3000 to 6000 games played and shit
does that make me worse than they are ? no it doesnt oh wait i even already bypassed majority of those people

Anyways I've been getting same people in my ranked games on a constant basis. Sometimes the same 2 people in the game team. Or every other game I see 2-3 same nicknames. Anyways from this released article there seem to be 100 million games played per month. There's 4 regions (US, Asia, EU and others (Russia/Africa/SA?)
There's average of 30 days per month
There's 24 hours in a day
Which equals to 34722.22~2 games played per hour
Now let's talk about people playing.. let's just say 50% are playing BOT/LPQ games and then 1/3 of that are playing non-ranked games.
That leaves 11575 players in ranked games now let's say ranked it subdivided into 6 leagues.
Here's the leagues:
Under 1K mmr
Under 2k mmr
Under 2.5k mmr
Under 3k mmr
Under 4k mmr
Over 5k MMR
That leaves around less than 2000 player per ranked pooled. Imagine if 2/3 of them are afk or not queuing at the current time and 2/3 are in a game already so they can't que. That leaves just 214 players able to play the same games as you do. This estimation doesn't take in LPQ, hidden pools and other concepts.
What you guys think? on average do you think only cue with around 200 players at the same time? out of the possible
