split shot early game is useless. if you are going to get snake, max it first, otherwise don't get it at all. Snake + shield IMO is the best build
there is no point in buying mom if you are farming like a snail..its a good item in games where your team already is doing well and you have the space to continue to farm.
if you can't farm, don't play medusa
I was always the fan of old school build : pt>linkens>manta>satanic>butterfly and divine.
For skill build, max spell shield at lvl 7 ( and meanwhile take stats), then get split shot and stats also, tottaly forget about snake until lvl 21

Linken's is a great item on Medusa, you just have to not be godawful at farm.
MoM is a great farm steroid, but it isn't that good when you can't secure your farm, so there wasn't much point of going it.
For "early fighting" Medusa you should always max Snake. Your build should be either:
+, 2, 2, 3, 2, 6, 2...
or
3, 2, 2, 3, 2, 6, 2...
Snake should be skipped only if you're planning to go AFK farm.
Also, don't buy Linken's [u]and[/u] Manta on Medusa. These two items serve one purpose, so buying them together is highly sub-optimal.
Linken's is good and solid pick almost all the time, even if enemy lacks strong spells Linken's can block (there's still Hex'n'stuff), but Manta has its advantages of being made from a great early-game item (yasha) and allowing you to dispel various silences.
If you went Yasha, in most cases it's better to go straight for Skadi, without finishing Manta first, unless enemy has some stuff you desperately want to dispel. Manta clones are garbage.
2nd and 3rd level Stone Gaze should be lower priority than your other skills, however you shouldn't take stats over it. When you start to actually fight, +10% of phys damage is better than +2 to stats.

On this forum everyone hates on Medusa Linkens, and I feel it is too slow a build and makes her take too long to come online
I was playing her on another account with friends, and I was planning on going phase MoM manta.
No farm opportunity meant I ended game with Mom phase and yasha, and everyone questioned my build.
What is the effective item and skill build for a (relatively) early game fighting medusa?
