Starcraft -> Winning Streak -> Match gold player vs. platinum/diamond -> He loses -> Winning Streak over -> 50%
Dota 2 -> Winning Streak -> Match gold player with bronze teammates vs. gold opponents -> He loses -> Winning Streak over -> 50% -> Still "gold" player.
Not always, but this is why people complain. Probably due to lack of better players in matchmaking.
I agree the mm in dota is very good compared to other games i've played. It's very noticeable the increase in skill of the opposition when I team up with 500+ game freinds, then when I play solo (200+ games).
theres a difference between forcing people to 50% by putting them with equally skilled players, and purposely handicapping them with worse teammates to achieve that 50%.
its pretty accurate
if you are playing where you belong, they you are probably not much better and not much worse than the average players you are put with and against
in the long run you should be winning about 50% of the times because you are as skilled as them
@marlan
bullshit, the problem is idiots think their teammates are worse than their opponents
on average their teammates are the same mmr as the opponents -> does not mean teammates are better or worse in any particular area, but that their performance on average is roughly the same
it doesnt become a problem until you climb to 5.5k+ (varies per server)
i'm the one who gets teammates up to 1k mmr below me regularly and i'm not complaining
there are two possible systems, one that matches randomly and one that attempts to match by skill
in a random matching system, such as garena or battlenet, your skill relative to the population is literally determined by winrate. A player better than 99% of the population will win 99% of his games.
In a matchmaking system it attempts to match people by skill, and their skill relative to the population is determined by their rating. Players with abnormal winrates will only appear at tail ends of the system, or those who 5-man stack constantly and are consistently put against weaker stacks because there are simply no better stacks in the queue.
Dont take any advice Marlan has to offer. His team mates hold him back and thinks Quelling blade on CK is mandatory.
#Argument Nullified.
The issue is when the weakest player ( or lower mmr ) of your team is laning against the higher mmr player of the enemy team, and somehow the best player in your team is agains the second best of the enemy team, and if you think about it 2 players with the same mmr can have different skills ( one can be really good at supporting and one can be really good at mid ), if somehow the guy who is good at supporting goes mid AND he is the weakest player on your team, well, you are fucked.
In theory there are the same chances that this happens to the enemy team as well, so in theory everything works out when you play millions of games blablabla etc
In another words, if you want to have a game where everyone is equally good and everything is close and not a stomp, well, that its imposible, but because that its how the game works, even pro games results in a stomp most times.
Disclaimer: Please i am not talking bad about valve or anything related to them so no need to get butthurt valve knights ^^
99.9% of the people bitching about 'forced 50%' are in a MM range that u get everyone on your team about 50 rating from eachother
Yes guys you should learn this, you dont bitch about your team in forums, bitch about them in the game, that its what everyone does.
"theres a difference between forcing people to 50% by putting them with equally skilled players, and purposely handicapping them with worse teammates to achieve that 50%."
That's not what happens at all. It's just people's perception because dota2 is by nature a lopsided game and there are so many heroes to pick from. Bad picks, bad situations can make someone look awful in one game and like a god in the next.
50% winrate is real, valve keeps track of players who perform low hero damage in 90% of their games and people who random a lot so they end up in your team after you win a lot
this is in 5k+ bracket, idc about low bracket since u can win 1vs9 there

^^this is why i'll never reach 53%^^
You will never reach 53% cause of some of the decisions/picks you and your buddies make!

We have proof of this? I highly doubt it. It's just odds that you end up with a retard or two after winning a bunch.
@Dipshit
People should stop saying shit about growing a tumor, cancer and things like these man. It's not even funny in today's society because if it ever happened to a person close to you, you would think twice before saying it the next time. Just try to keep as calm as possible and always take a break every time you get stomped.

I'm not sure why people hate "forced 50% winrate" and call match making sh!T
majority of player's winrate close to 50% winrate just shows how good match making is and
how match making matches players with similar skill bracket.
if I see player with 10% winrate then I would agree that match making is sh!T because match making fails to correctly match that player with opponent with similar skill bracket.
and I'm pretty sure there are alot of top players with higher than 60% winrate
so I think there isn't forced 50% it's more like good match making system
