Just trilane or even an aggressive duo vs Lycan and he won't get much. Axe is super-g vs Lycan aswell.
You could try Silencer (he has high cooldowns unless he maxes fist, Norty can orbwalk harass)
Dazzle (physical damage nukes, high attack range with good animation)
Shadow Shaman (Has two reliable disables for him as well as a physical ult)
Bloodseeker might be good against him? Not sure, but rupture and a silence seems sick. Does the shield get purged off?
Keeper of the Light can remove the shield at all stages of the game with his nuke, and mana leak is strong against Ember
So if my team picks lycan ( I know we trash :( ) should we allways try to dodge aggresive tri?
Viper, OD, Dk, rexxar probably.
And for lycan, as said, axe is great. If lycan is jungling, pick gondar, and let him get 20 minute level 6.
Clinkz wrecks Ember mid from early all the way until late game, forcing him to pick up Linkens/BKB/Ghost.
Lifestealer. Lifestealer is my most played hero by far, and he wrecks ember in mid. You can usually kill him around level 4-5, and even midgame with his ult he won't be effective with your 70% wound slow.
all the above mentioned. plus his remnants moves 2.5 times his current move speed. any slow can screw around with his escape path.
Viper, Invoker, TA isnt bad too. Saw a lot of games where Ember was hard countered by Storm who had orchid.
storm is good (can remove shield at any time, naturally beats almost all melee mids) -> proceeds to rape with orchid as game progresses
morph is good (can remove shield at any time, can trade hits, better damage that grows faster in lane)
legion is good in midgame/lategame (ember relies heavily on mobility, cant do it when ultid)
axe is good in mid (counters throughout the entire game - can blink on him at any time to intitiate, rapes him in mid/lane etc)
any hero with instant initiation/silence/heavy lockdown works well
hes played more in mid so not sure why everyones going with sidelane counters

fists to disjoint during the slow and chains if he wants to man up on you. Only if you are retarded enough to go flame guard will you lose
there is a reason why teams who skip flame guard have a 80-90% win rate with ember and teams who go flame guard end up losing(NaVi)....

yea I understand why people build deso but lightning hammer is just fucking awful........
Most mids can kinda crush him for the first few levels, but the worst for me is OD and storm.
Honorable mention to invoker for being able to facetank lv 4 fist spam with a few in quas.
Skywrath rekts him if he comes close you canbjust instantly kill him.
TA is probably the best hero against ember mid in pubs, since he literally dies from 1 meld strike and 3 auto attacks at lvl 5.
Storm Spirit is totally counter pick against him.
He can win lane and rape him after he got orchid
don't listen to most of them here, they know nothing.
sf is OK against ember but you need to be a good sf to only have a chance.
Sky IS actually good against him.
believe it or not but you can pick axe against him mid.
and the best counter is Exort invoker since you are tanky and have high dmg.
Every other hero is atm no match/disadvantage for a good ember
I feel like TA and Ember sort of counter each other. TA can meld-dodge SoF and has so much damage against Embers terrible armor. She is also gonna deny most of his creeps.
On the other hand, the fire shield (dont know the name;- not an ember picker) fucks TAs refraction chages rly hard.
Also Orchid/Hex is legit on TA when playing against heroes like ember. At that time you can just kill him every time he shows himself.

Just wondering, what counters ember spirit in mid lane or sort of dominates him. I know viper does relatively well against him. Anyone else?
On a side note, what about lycan? how do u prevent him from reaching that stage where he has vlads and necro 3.
