You get less points if you are expected to win the match. If the enemy team is on a losing streak, the chances of you winning increase, thus it is more expected that you win and you get less points.

i played my first 10 ranked party games with the same friend and he calibrated at a lower mmr than me even though we were in the exact same games

party mmr still starts off with your original MMR (the hidden one), so if the game thought you were better than your friend before you did ranked, it will put your friend at a lower mmr.

If you lose a game, you can expect yourself to win next game, if you lose again, hopefully you win next game, but if you lose three times in a row, maybe you dont belong in that bracket. If you see someone on a 5 loss streak in your team, do you expect yourself to win or lose?
@Wink - that doesn't really make sense, so are you saying someone on a losing streak is more likely to lose? I'm quite sure the system doesn't see it that way - nor is it true in any sense, else someone having a bad day will keep losing and have his chances to lose increase.
Anyway dang-dang maybe you counted wrongly? I've screenshotted my past 100+ games' ending screens and so far all the rating increases or decreases have been consistent with whichever team has a higher MMR.
Wink, MMR is the single number that represents skill in matchmaking. It doesn't make sense to add another variable when you can just reflect it in the number. Valve would give/take bonus MMR if they wanted to account for win/lose streaks due to sudden skill change. (They actually did re-calibration mode for that purpose which is explained in their blog post.)
Given that a lose-streak teammate have not suddenly lost skill (sold account?), I don't consider the match unfavored. Likewise, a coin-toss has the same chance of tails (50%) even after 10 consecutive heads.

The system didn't 'expect' him to win, as reflected in how his rating changes remained a constant +-25 throughout most of the way, despite ungodly win streaks for the most part. If the system doesn't make concessions for such an extreme case then it is very unlikely to do so for short streaks of 3-4 games.
Personally I think it's fine this way. In general a person's skill will only improve so fast, and accounting for losing streaks will often drop the player far below his original rating. There is really nothing much to be gained from accounting for streaks apart from deterring account buyers, which are but a niche portion of the community.

The MMR of each player is adjusted if some of the players are teamed up. That might explain it.

Why did I get +22 points when mmr the opponent had a tiny bit more total mmr than my team? (In total, yes I checked blabla)
