good item, i get it as my second item on OD, sheep is better if you are rich.

Good item on Ancient Apparition if you have a good start and someone else is getting Mek. Same effect as Eul's (In terms of landing your Cold Feet stun), but lower cooldown and overall more useful to your team. Plus the extra tank is great.

I feel like it's one of those items you get either when you are really ahead and can get it quick or really behind and struggling to get items. Nice item because it's a cheaper alternative to Shiva's - an int item which gives some sort of tankability.

Actually I used to love this item on Clinkz. Mainly cause if I go for solo kills people usually just run away from me when I start attacking cause of slow movespeed while not invis. Not too shappy either as Clinkz needs mana, however I think Blink is a better item now, especially as there is no mana cost now. Dunno, pretty cool item imo.

how would you change it? price drop? cut out one of the intell items and make it +15 intell at 2100 gold?

AA, DP and OD. Seriously, it gives OD the most damage per gold spent of any item in the game, and gives him a shitton of HP and a slow.

Clnkz... actually a good idea, but orchid is obviously better.

I haven't purchased Rod of atos in IDK how long. Last time I used it I was not impressed with it on my support hero.

A slowed enemy can still hit you and cast spells, a hexed or silenced enemy has very limited capacity.

And no, OD gets better damage per price point from the atos, and it comes online sooner. however even if you want push/scythe first, you can still go into atos after.

The idea that these two items are mutually elusive is ridiculous.

Different respects. Rod of Atos would be your first or second core, not your early game item. It's better to invest extra gold to just get a better item.

If we did everything based on damage per gold, we'd build nothing but Divine Rapier.

Int heroes that can function as carries such as lesh/OD/silencer benefit from both. The only heroes you will get it on that dont use the int damage to carry are AA, DP and of course Skywraith mage, who also uses the item very well.

Orchid and atos have very different functions. An atos will be far more effective at kiting a bristle or ursa. Atos isn't good against weaver qop or puck, orchid is. Orchid gives attack speed, atos bulk

If you build atos instead of orchid when you need orchid it will be shitty. But it's extremely effective at forcing bkb charges and rendering potentially lethal semi carries harmless.

Obviously scythe is better, you might as well say to not build euls because bloodstone gives better mana regen. But atos is far far spammier than scythe, has a much longer cast range, and gives almost twice the bulk.

Atos very strong especially on necro dp UD AA. Heroes that love bulk and typically lack in traditional lockdown needed to really get the most of their skills.

Rod seems amazing on Sky Mage.

cuz for under 900 more gold u get bkb. For 200 more you get soul booster.

+ 450 Health
+ 400 Mana
+ 4 HP Regeneration
+ 100% Mana Regeneration

Fore escape. Force staff is cheaper. Euls & Orchid cheaper and better for team fight than atos.

I'm still against picking it up on a carry, but for a nuker/semi I could see its uses, especially against a melee team or when you really can abuse the slow(skywrath).

its very good when you have most of your core items up and your opponents have alot of mobility. Best taken up by 3,4,5 positions.

Nop, at least not in pubs.

Dont get me wrong, that item build is good but refresher and hex cost a lot, and you will be useless for more time in the game. Plus if the enemy has 3 or more int heroes refresher is not worth it at all.

So, when you get you forcestaff first you can go for hex, but hex costs a lot, A LOT, and the build up its not really good for OD. You can go for bkb too, but that its boring and doesnt give you damage, i like to build OD as a snowball hero and he works pretty good this way believe me, in my opinion, the 2 best OD items after forcestaff is atos or orchid, orchid gives a LOT of damage ( more than atos, because of the extra atack speed ) and atos its cheap, gives hp ( if you dont go for bkb you need this extra hp ) slow ( seriously OP slow ) and really good int for his price, if i get atos i get orchid after, and maybe only after that i get bkb.

I think the stats are the best part about it, VERY cost efficient INT and tankiness.

This is why it's good on heroes that need it like OD, SkyBoss and Silencer.
