well it's only useful if you bkb afterwards, and their team has no shit that goes over bkb.
so if you bkb and have linken you may be safe.
not many heroes make both of those items tho.
its not useful against a careful/good doom.
However if a doom purchased a shadowblade, it will at least force him to cast lvl? death before dooming you?
And yea, i guess bkb and linkens? a bit overkill.
I used linkens as DP the other day against a doom. He doomed me twice before, saved up and got it late game. Fooled him the first time, was enough to win a key team fight and take rax.
It doesn't counter him, but it does make him a lot less effective. Its not about careful/good doom, only retards are going to use doom on a linkens hero (before using another spell to break it). There are two reasons other than the immediate benefits (stats/regen), first of all, it can give you time as he has to cast both LVL death and Doom, which can allow you to stun, WW, blink, manta or whatever before he uses Doom. AND, even if he does successfully use Doom on you, you've just dodged a 275 + 20% (potentially) damage nuke which fucking hurts. We are talking about a nuke that does 475/575/675 damage when you have 1000/1500/2000 HP, and this can easily be the difference between life or death.
I have good win rate on doom and I always laugh at people who build linken's to counter me.
It basically just takes a shift click and good position for me to negate your 4k gold investment.
If there's one advice I can give to people who would like to survive against my doom?
Never be alone and tell your supports to buy force staff ;)
At least it will dodge the first doom after buying linken because nobody checks items before dooming. so if you buy it at the right time it may win you an important fight and maybe you will take rax or something.
A good doom may still check you items, because he saw you already had perserverance and ultimate orb so you will have enough for the recipe soon.
Its ok on weaver, since the instant you notice your linkens pop you can just invis away. However if they are more than only doom then you might have a problem.
Linken's goal isn't to block Doom, BM ult or so, because no one will blow an ult in a Linkens hero... its goal is to force them to blow spells on you so there are less spells being used on your supports, less chances that they instantly disable you (since you have a second to react) and good stats and regen.
If you have REALLY good reflexes, then you might use it with BKB and he really can't doom you. But there still might be a BKB piercing spell to cancel it and then you have wasted like 8k gold. And he will still Doom someone else. That's what he does. He dooms people. You just can't escape. I suggest you to deal with it.
And the stats and regen are really good on most heroes (medusa, weaver, morphling or whatsoever).
^Not most heroes tbh. Medusa Weaver and Morphling are infact the only competitive and constant Linken builders. Other heroes building Linkens are really rare. With the new patch though you can see it on supports sometimes.
I mean they are good but on many heroes , that doesn't mean that we see(should see) it very often.

yeah we would probably never buy linken on BH, gyrocopter or ursa. but it's pretty viable on the rest.
And ALL of those heroes are INT heroes who could spend that money on Orchid/Hex/Shiva and be much more useful imo.

doom can always use his nuke to break your linken before dooming you, so I wonder how useful is linken against doom.
