    We are super excited to say that we have a total of 21 teams signed up for with an additional 29 free agents! AD2L is growing! The league starts in 16 days!

    We've also implemented a forum page that's accessible through http://amateurdota2league.com to make it easier for free agents to get into contact with other free agents to begin creating teams!

    Those who haven't signed up yet you can do so through the above link!

          Do you actually have an idea of how the league works. Its seems to just be on a random allocation of automated team v team and not any thought out structure.

          e.g. we are on there and all our games are on Thursday, being working folk we would like to have it on either Wednesday or Tuesday instead. Also, how do you account for regions/time zones, team skill level etc

          Why not use battlefy?

            @Havoc Badger Depending on how many teams there will be we'll have different divisions. Our cap right now is 49 teams, so that would be 7 divisions with 7 teams each. It's a six week regular season, so you would play each team in your division once. At the end of the season, the top teams will progress to playoffs for a final few weeks, again, depending on how many teams we have.

            Check the forums http://amateurdota2league.com/Forums/chat/default-gametimes-and-default-gameservers here (apparently there isn't a good way to link?) for discussion on servers now. We are still trying to iron that out, but I believe we have a decent solution in the works.

            If teams wished to try and reschedule a match for a different time with the team they will be playing against that week, that would be totally fine, as long as the match gets played. If an agreement on a different time can't be reached, the default playing time would be 9:00 est on league night (Thursday being the night for the first league starting on 12/26).

            The first league is Thursday nights, starting on 12/26. We will be starting a league that plays on Tuesday nights on 01/07. Registration for the Tuesday league will open on 12/17. The reason behind the set days is because we are trying to mainly cater toward working people, like you guys. I really can't commit to matches that could be rotating each week. I know I can play on Tuesdays, so I'll be signing up for that league. I see tournaments that are over an entire weekend and I don't think I'll ever be able to participate in something like that, as awesome as they are, because of family/work/other obligations.

            As far as team skill, I'm really not sure what the best metric would be to use right now. Each division should probably have a mix of high skill and low skill. If one division had all high skill and another had only low skill it wouldn't be very fair to be competing for one prize since a high division team would have a lower chance of winning it than a team with a lower skill that a had an easier division. Having an accurate gauge of team skill isn't easy. Dotabuff may be our best option but it definitely won't be even close to 100% accurate. Do you have any suggestions?

                    @SUPERMAN

                    Yes, it's totally safe. It goes through steam using openID authentication. We don't see anything of your username or password. You go to steam through our site and they just send us back your 64-bit steamID, which we can use to get your screen name, avatar, etc. Like dotabuff.

                    A decent discussion about OpenID authentication here:
