I really experience the same thing but none will know if this theory is true or not.
You know any player is a human being. They can do whatever they'd like to do in the game. If they want to fuck up a game or go a hero he dont know, or even haven't slept for 100 hours Valve will not know. There is so many factors. Some good guy can end up having really bad games due to few hours of sleep, cold fingers or anything that may make them look like real idiots.
Everybody have had bad games, everybody have had good games where your team does not.
Keep on fighting, no reason to complain if you dont stack imo.
Whatever, gl
no
this is team game if u play with good team that do not suck u won't lose unless u will play against smarter and better team
Valve MMR (match making rating) is a TSR (true skill rating) type system. This sort of system gives you a score and an uncertainty number. The uncertainty controls how large changes to your score for a win or lose will be. When you win or lose games in a row the system increases your uncertainty because the matches were supposed to be balanced giving each team and equal chance to win. If you have a consistent win/lose/win/lose/win/lose pattern your uncertainty decreases because you are winning 50% as predicted.
When your uncertainty is high wins and losses count for more points so your score can change quickly. So if you get on a win streak your rating will go up and you will be placed in more difficult games. When you win only 1 or 2 games the change is so small basically nothing happens. But if you win 6 or 7 in a row you might move up 200 MMR.
If you are on a stack the matching system will give you harder games by increasing the strength of your opponents. But if you que alone it often makes a more difficult game by giving you weaker allies. This is why it seems that you are "forced" to lose. Realize that those with high win rates are either able to carry more deadweight allies in solo que... or more likely play more games in a strong stack.
The only way to win significantly more games than you lose is to be the #1 team in the que. This can be accomplished by actually being the best in your region during the short que time, or by manipulating the options to limit the pool of players available to match against you. This is why some regions are far more difficult than others.
^ Weaker allies thing is kind of messed up as its a team game and you can't do much on your own (if they get fed and gain significant level and gold advantage thn no matter how good you are its over for the whole team unless your team decides to stop blaming eachother and calling gg in main chat and decides to try and turn the tables which happens rarely) but all you said still makes sense. Thanks for the detailed analyses
You're welcome. Even though it is difficult to find friends you can count on and get along with in the game you really must do it to get full enjoyment out of the game.
Some people you will find you just can't work with, others will think about the game the way you do and be a good fit. The only way to find out is to tryout a lot of them and keep the allies that work for you. Unless you are near pro level a good, friendly stack will still eventually increase in MMR until you lose plenty of games. But at least you will be losing them to similarly skilled teams so it doesn't feel like you were cheated.
You should have a stack as backup. When I get 5+ wins in a row I usually avoid the solo queue and wait to play a stack with friends because you will get paired with feeders and leavers.
What you could do is start trying out new heroes when you get a winning streak. That way you won't mess up the win percentage of your top guys because of bad teammates. After a few loses go back to your main heroes.
^^ Finding a good stack will require going through many pubs and players but from the looks of it i think it will be worth the time Thanks again for the advice
^ Seems to be the only good way to avoid getting pub stomped soo bad that you don't want to play dota for awhile Thanks
I wouldn't call 2-3 losses a losing streak. 5-8, now that's a streak. A couple losses is not really an outlier when the average is 50/50. Consider how many times you win two in a row then lose one, then win two more, is that a big win streak? I just try to win 2 out of 3 in a night.
MM tries to create a balanced average MMR per team. If you play really well and go on a win streak, your MMR will rise a lot so you will be put with lower MMR players to even it out
try multiple -10 lose streaks like mine. Then farm back 6-7 winstreaks. Rinse & Repeat.
Be careful with a stack lol, if you queue solo, a loss is just a loss, because in your mind you can just blame the randoms (however wrong that may be), but if you lose as a five stack, it's embarrassing, and you tend to hold in frustrations at teammates until it all comes out ... and you don't play with them for a few days, if not ever.
In my experience I mostly play in a stack, although the stack only consists of my real life friends that I've known for years. We just play for fun, sometimes we get outplayed and sometimes we make silly mistakes. We never blame anyone if we loose, we just try to learn from our mistake and queue for another game.
We even play right up silly games like: Only "Ice/Frost" characters like this match http://dotabuff.com/matches/375182461
We knew from the start that we wouldn't win but this game was really fun ^^

I knew this was coming after those wins but its like a bad joke ... you win too many and you are in for a match with best of the worst in dota 2.
Its really frustrating to know that after you win 6-7 games you are going to have 2-3 losses and you can't do anything about it ...
(same thing happened to me before won few games and then lost 3 straight)
I don't do stacks I have a bad experience with them people usually end up blaming each other and everyone thinks they are too pro to lose. So my question here is that is there any way to avoid this or is it just a punishment from valve that you have bear for winning few games in a row ...
(Its ok if we simple get outplayed at a balanced game but these games end up one sided where there is a feeder on one side and other group pub stomps the whole team making them call 'gg' at around 15 mins without even trying)
