Necrolyte is a very fun hero to use IMO, having much different playstyle compared to much heroes because of his death pulse. If kited long enough, he can continuously heal himself while damaging (a group of) opponents. From my experience, nec is only useful when played aggressive, running into a bunch of enemies, pulse, back off, repeat, kiting them into your team.
What I like most is end game stuff, where your ult+scepter disables buyback, it's a total game changer in games whereby a teamfight determines the result.
I really like phase, mek and them some really tank item like heart. Blademail is also good because you actually heal a lot in fight.
Necro is one of my favorite heroes :) i think i have a good kda with him.
With necro you need to play agresive but sometimes this leads to death ... so play agresive but always try to know how much you can take and still be alive ..... necro NEEDS to be able to last hit heroes to recover hp and mana so if you see someone at low hp try to chase him ( this is why i like phase ).
If you get a fast mek you should try to push early with your team.

Both are old profiles whom got sold to some winrate whore
I feel like I've had pretty good success with Necro -- though small sample size. I've always gone phase, into Mek, then it gets situational. Some sort of combination of bloodstone, pipe, atos, or sceptor seems to be effective. With Necro, it's really about just staying alive in the fight. The longer you're alive, the better. Heartstopper + spamming pulse will go a long way in a team fight. But you just need to get as tanky as possible to do so.
phase - mekk first ?
you cast Q + mekk and u are oom
imo arcane into BS - hex, point is to spam Q
^I dont know but usually i dont have mana problems with necro ( ks :P ) ... plus the hero is really slow and you need movement speed.
The most important thing: don't feed
The second most important thing: don't die
The least important thing: don't over commit
Heart looks fine, but I like Skadi more, I don't feel Necrolyte lack of HP regen..
Dagon is perfect item on Necrolyte, but with it, I can't help my team to tank damage, or disable someone with sheep stick, but it can shut one hero down pretty efficiently only if I can get it early and snowball hard. Ricky item.
As for bloodstone, Necrolyte doesnt lack of mana regen, for tankness, well it doesnt give any bonus armor, and even skadi&heart give more HP pool.
Sometime I'm considering buying Necronomicon, Mjollnir, Yasha, Cyclone, but rarely see people buy it. :p

I'm enjoy playing Necrolyte recently.
Most of the time I'd get boot then mek.
And mid-late game items would be, sheep, shiva's, bkb, bloodstone...and so on. I don't like to get Scepter, bloodstone, thou.
I'm wondering what play style would fit Necrolyte, I normally go aggressive with Necrolyte, trying to get as close as possible, this lead to my KDA, I die a lot. I like to trade my life, one for one..
Any suggestions for play style and items would be appreciated.
I play at high/very high, highest team rating player is 4175, if that does matter.
