I went 36-0 with slark then I was muted for 168 hours

U get several reports, in a definite time, u will get banned

I was playing with 2 friends. Whenever an odd retard from our team made something useless, or played bad we reported him "communication abuse". Retards must be punished and i dont care, if this seems like shit

The system is flawed in the way that you can get report even without saying anything, I have just recently come off quite a substantial chat ban but this is due to user reports over time and not the by-product of a single match.

It is possible that you had a few queued up and you should be able to clear them after awhile.

it works like this

u play game

someone gets mad and reports u , after u get xx amount of reports u get mute

yesterday i had 13 reports remaining since i get muted permamently everytime i play i don't see why others should be able to use chat so i just randomly reported 13 ppls with my 13 reports today i woke up logged in and i see that i got 13 reports again (means 13 ppls got muted)

So.. Its like anyone can be muted no matter if the report was valid or not? No one moderates it? no quality control? wow this system is really broken! people can just abuse the report action anytime!

i got like 14 now so im waiting to be pissed to use them

Again, how do you control the human element of it. The system is fairly broken but only because the user's brake it through misuse. People are constantly shit talking valve when its the player base that is to blame.

Yes, you can report anyone at any given time and if they get enough stacks against them then it will result in a report. I remain quite low key in games either by being courteous or if I am feeding or having a bad game apologizing to the team for the bad performance.

This is also a key reason you should queue alone as there is a greater chance of a report. As for the enemy, dicks will be dicks and you can prevent it but if you keep a game fairly jovial then people shouldn't really feel the need to report you. Also the report systems works on patterns and reports against you fade in time until new ones are added.

I don't know how fast they fade but I know they do as I have only been muted twice since the system came out so it is not a huge deal for me. A couple dicks here and there throwing a report at me doesn't have much effect and neither does a single game though it might get you 9 reports which will stack you in the queue for a mute.

As a person who just recovered from his second mute time of 168 hours I feel your pain.

There should be a dedicated team that validate the reports, thats it basically.
I had this thread in dev.dota2, apparently there is this guy who thinks a "mute" ban is ok if hes mad about it because he doesnt like my nyx build and theres no other type of ban that fits, lol its funny that valve is giving that kind of guy the power to mute ban anyone that he likes for no apparent reason of any chat abuse.

dude u can get reported for anything i got 168h mute after winning a game for my team and raping enemy without saying a single word throughout the game + since that i just cant take this game even semi seriously Shit is beyond retarded

+ in revenge i start reporting everyone for few games in a row and from 80 false reports 40players got muted

It makes me sick how people break/cheat systems like this then whine like little bitches when it works against them.

@Bad Intentions It really sucks for you and this comment wasn't geared at you or anyone in particular but there is nothing you or Valve can really do against dicks and low skilled players who rage.

Trust me on this, I play with all kinds of random people from rejected forum users to quite pro stackers and I am courteous and play a fair and meager game, yet I still got reported twice. The only advice I can give is again play fair, don't shit talk and apologize if mistakes are made. Other than that nothing you can do but cross your fingers and pray you don't get angsty 15yo's in your party.

There is nothing to improve on the mute systems.

Someone is using abusive of offensive language, report them. If not don't.

It doesn't get much more simple or improved than that just people choose to abuse it. Guaranteed you have no practical "improvement" on this system.

Not the case as once a mute is in place the other reports you get will stack against you till once you're off the previous ban. Though if a ban was stuck in play I am sure it would add onto it in the long run.

If you were muted for 24hrs and you got another report it would extend it to 25hrs. Not sure it works that way.

not true u are text abuse immune but u can still end up in lpq

same , got muted for 168 hours for doing nothing , I even rarely talk in-game

Well this is fucking ridiculous i got muted in game 160 hours,after that mute expired after 1 hour (didnt play a game) i got muted again...WTF VALVE!
