I can't imagine playing CM in pubs even with a 5 stack, you go scrim for that shit. Not to mention solo queueing into CM and playing it with random people, pure suicide. Like, who the fuck does that lol
CM is my most preferred pubbing game as well! <3
At the very least, you won't get double carry lanes, double junglers, etc. And CM is fun in pubs 'cuz you get to see many different lineups etc, you can always test out some as well. CM is the most fun mode because it is "real" dota. AP is pure pubbing, CM is the closest a pub can get to a competitive game. (btw I started pub CM and moved my way into inhouses and I would say the experience of captaining a pub definitely transitions over)

... when the captain of the team knows what he's doing, is able to speak the same language as the rest of the team, and is willing to pay attention to or otherwise listen to his or her teammates.. yes i agree

I have a good captain 70% of the time, and even with a bad capt you can still outplay the other team.

and ye i can say same - playing mm with cm mode is same like everyother mode
find mates // team and then go some clan war channel and play cm
or w8 till dlg makes dota 2 work there and will be good cm games :)
each time i played cm pubs with friends (not even high skilled ones" it was one sided stomp unless we was trolling around while on other hand allpick pubs is so much harder to win cuz u don't outpick lowbobs in ap (unless counterpicking)
CM is made exclusively for those people who can't get a team/aren't good enough for comp. dota and those who doesn't want to play AP cuz they think if enemy gets a strong hero he automatically loses.

in my opinion, 5v5 cm, even in mm are mostly better than random ap games. ppl seem to be more focused and eager to win. its less flaming and shit and more strategic team play then solo farming and killing.
i once picked ck wisp combo, with a furion as only 8-10 min jungle with ganks in between, and WR solo hard lane, and nyx mid,none knew how to play their roles, furion went jungle for 20+ minutes, wisp didnt know wut relocate does, nyx broke his ulti without hitting but by immediately stunning, he time after the other enjoyed not giving them te backstabs, who doesnt know that he gives a backstab while using vendetta?
I found CM mode the easiest shit ever, Both times I was drafting even when I wasn't blue/pink I told them how to draft. The other team on the hand were downsydrome as shit and we ended up winning +30 kills etc and ran into some Brazilian pause hacker who could pause it 1000000 times and re-pause straight away( ended up being like a 2 hour game which only recorded as 45 minutes - The joys of pubstomping p.s. we 2-3 man queued it both times I think). I queue it in hoping to find CM mode because I enjoy it but my personal experience of it has been a let down, stick -CM to only inhouse/scrim
for the people who say CM = noob mode... ya'll just always stuck in the noob mode. Played vs. a 5 european stack that played wit iccup, played vs. front page nigs in cm... I will say less pros wanna play cm (cuz they dont want to have a shit captain) but I have definitely met captains (that I now ih with) who not only knew what they were doing, but picked some brilliant strats that I have incorporated (stolen) into my picking strategy.

cm has been used and will always be use for every tournament and clan war
CM is probably the best mode for ranked games since you dont have people just ninjapicking op heroes / combos. That's how the "best" here on Dotabuff get to be the "best" (Wisp every single game ftw).
Of course it only works in brackets where you can expect to have a decent captain.
In tournaments you have teams of 5 people who know how to counter a wisp.
In CM you at least have the option to counterdraft certain heroes or just ban them to begin with.
Idk why people say CM = NOOB MODE, If you don't like to wait 15 minutes to start a game, fine, it's understandable. But as some people have stated, in -cm you have (given that both captains are good/listen to their team) good picks, good lanes, OP or new heros already banned. For some people the waiting time worth it. Today I played 2 -ap games and drow and silencer were picked, simply cos they are OP then the gay combo tiny-wisp was also picked.

Well, I'm trying to achieve that and I must tell you that it's very hard, specially if you soloqueue. You have to deal with premades, bad capt, even a single bad player in your team can make you lose. I even had a bad start (2 loses in the beginning). Are there players with +66% wins that only play -cm? cause the best players according to dotabuff usually play -ap.
