    i just dont understand why icefrog keeps nerfing him.
    he is not op by any means
    he has a shit winrate 47.9%
    why dont icefrog nerf something like clinks which has a 55% winrate

              They just nerfed X mark and his ult because on pos 4 he was a bit ridiculous, core Kunka is still okay.

                      I don't understand how OD is meta too. These two heroes were nerfed and faded away from the meta. OD was almost niche pick and shit tier. Yet somehow after another few patches of nerf, they're meta again. It's not like other meta mid heroes were nerfed.
                      You guys can't say things they could do patches(of nerf) ago to justify why they're meta. X-mark was the same since forever, now it's suddenly broken?!

                      Lina has the highest pick rate and similar winrate, Zeus has a good pick rate and positive winrate, but no one's saying they're meta.

                          I'm sure you understand the game enough to answer your own question One True Merchant- the reason why things can become stronger without being touched is because the game shifts around them- not only through numerical changes but also from the community collectively learning and understanding more about the game.

                          For instance, all of the crazy lane-creep pulling techniques common at high brackets today- this has always been something people could do ever since the beginning of DotA. But they simply never thought to do it, until enough people began innovating a couple years back and then everyone else caught on.

                          Honestly X Marks the Spot has always been conceptually imbalanced and still is. I like the ability thematically, I think it's a cool design cohesive with Kunkka's kit and it was a good use of the "Map" Icon in WC3, but it's not balanced and never will be. Either it needs to be less reliable for Kunkka, (has some sort of aimed projectile that needs to be landed or something,) or it needs to have less range. There isn't really another hero in DotA with as high of an effective "assured kill" radius via a range CC spell like Kunkka in their base kit.

                              he was a very contested firstpick on high mmr pubs last patch and way too strong due to X and utility items like solar pipe being very good on him, I still wish they just nerfed the rum % or something though

                                  Do you even know how annoying he is? Definitely still 1st pick material. He rarely lose mid(with the exception against a very good MK player). Even if he loses, he can jungle very well and takes ancients like a Templar Assassin. He is tanky as hell with high HP ane armor. He farms too fast. He has burst. He has disables. He can literally build any item and fairly do well with it. He can be play 1-5, with mid and pos 4 being most potent.X mark is broken with no item counters. He can man fight any carry. Did I mention he can 1 shot you with the right circumstances? He is a mario(1st) pick.

                                    He needs nerfs with his str and agi gain. And a little nerf on the early levels of tide bringer because that sh*t at lvl 1 takes 1/3 of the hp on an enemy standing behind a creep with a quelling blade

                                      Atleast his early items got nerfed. Pre 7.22, he can never be killed with 2 bracers and phase boots at 7-13 mins.
