Well I meant that many players didn't move from their initial MMR.
Seems like new players either move quickly and get better or they get stuck in a certain MMR.
well OP it really depends on when you started dota right. if u looked at players who only started playing 2 years ago you wouldnt see teh same thing. but of course if they'd been playing for awhile and reached their cap, then yea, why would they get better? evweryone has a limit
Started at 750 3yrs ago and could only hit 3.6k... not sure if I can go higher than that, I’m quite bad at dota
Obviously there is some sort of cap or else the average wouldnt be 2-2,5k mmr, maybe average is 3k, what makes 1k's then mentally challenged?.
The last time valve even released the official numbers was 2013 and i think LoL has never released any sort of numbers at all. The only reason why valve added medals was for people to feel good and think less about mmr. Its obvious they dont want this discussion in the first place.
it is because people get used to that skill bracket and not improving at all of course it is not same for everyone but mostly like this
u can be everything u want lads
This is awesome maybe i should bet all my money that some team from a league ranked 20-30 wins champions league i mean they are professional footballers and clearly there is no skill cap. Ill just send them a tweet that they can be anything they want.
It all depends on will to grind. You can play like 2 game per day for like 4 years (which is 2015) with totally no interest in the actual process of the game and that would sum up in 2000 games. In those 2000 games if you played like I mentioned, you could be exact same MMR as in 2015
apple and oranges?
im not talking about teams, teams are used to gather same skill players for same skill competition
im talking about persons, who can improve their skills and change their teams!
i see why u are still Normal Skill after dozen years playing this game
i said u can be anything u want if u try enough for it
every champion started from low ranked leagues, right?
sry u cant be anything u want,
there is a skill cap for humans
but there is no skill cap for toxic apes from iran
feels good man
but would it be wrong to assume that many people are pretty much where they used to be few years ago in terms of MMR?yes, i went from 4900-6700 within less than 2 years (but now ive lost quite a bit)
woohoo sharia laws woohoo women dont have basic human rights woohoo global sanctions woohoo
feels good being toxic ape from iran
ya and all blacks are criminals
i didnt know ppl of iran are the ones who rule the country and writing the laws
tnx for tellin me that sir
Ya new players either improve or get stuck at their mmr. If one wants to improve its pretty easy now , due to the huge number of guides and videos available which is not present 4 yrs back.
Im not sure about first years but like last 5 years im 2500 mmr, i did climb to 3k and get back to like 2200.
There is one huge equivalent and that is amount of games you playing.
You can't really climb much with 300 games in a year.
But from my experience 2500 mmr today is absolutely different than 5 years ago, i playing on Australia server only and often meeting ppl like me, also i don't remember i meet any kid in past 3 years.
Im probably the only proud archon out there.
Almost everyone gets stuck at some point. Idk if I was already 4.3k 2 years ago but I was definitely close to reaching my cap, that I felt would be around 4.7-4.8k. Now I tilted, lost tons of mmr and have been forced to focus on serious things rather than Dota, but in normal conditions I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to go past mid/high 4k anyway.

So I was browsing my games from 2015. 2016 and 2017 out of curiosity.
While some exeptions may be found (in terms of back then vs now) usually people either go few hundred points in MMR or are few hundred below what they were 2 or 3 years ago.
Obviously I didn't actually go though 1000 matches, so the sample size isn't there to back up my theory, but would it be wrong to assume that many people are pretty much where they used to be few years ago in terms of MMR?
