fellow gymcels, how much does working out help your mental health? not only regarding things like depression, anxiety or self esteem but also performance e.g. memorization
self esteem is more of a personal note, usually people that are severely underweight/overweight will feel more confident if they get into a normal body mass index threshold. depression/anxiety is unlikely to be affected by working out. lifting wont cure your autism. and memorization can actually be affected negatively if you work out at a high intensity and work capacity because its heavy on your CNS. altho this is more of a long term thing and not really a problem for beginners.
one positive thing tho (outside body health) is that you will generally feel more energetic throughout your day, especially if you work out in the morning.

but when u go on reddit or other sites ppl say how much fitness has changed hteir life, how much better they can concentrate on work etc, i was curious if theres something to it

obviously fitness can be part of a healthy lifestyle and can change your life but only if you use it in conjunction with everything else. aka healthy diet healthy sleep schedule and a general positive outlook on life. i'd say you usually have less time to focus on the bad things in your life (like depression and anxiety) when you have stuff to do (like going to school/work going to the gym going out and whatever else normies do) instead of sitting at home thinking about all the shit you dont like.
